buying a new quad?
ok iv benn thinking about getting a sport quad this summer and i dont no what one to get. I have a 04 450 forman iv had it about a year now but im always rideing some of my freinds quads which are 250r 400ex and warriors so iv ridden a couple of diffrent quads. Now i have narrowed down my choices between a 400ex 450r raptor 660 or a yfz450. i ride lots of open trails some loggin roads and tight trials and some road. i just want a reliable quad and one with some great power

for trails... a 350 Rappy/Warrior works REALLY well. I can walk all over my bros 660Rap. But as soon as I get onto the road, I get toasted *** soon as I wind out 3rd gear. Powerwise... it does lack compared to the 450's and up, but (mine anyway) runs with 400's easily. On open trails, my bros 660 is damn strong... a wee tippy on tight trails. All around, I'd go 660 Rap.

I dont think you could go wrong with any of the quads you mentioned. If you can, try and ride each one if available.
Some have reverse, some do not.
For the wide open roads, the Raptor and 450s would be the way to go. The Raptor 660 will be a pain to rejet the dual carbs, compared to the single carbs on the other bikes. The 700 Raptor will need a programmer at a moderate expense to adjust the fuel settings.
The 400ex will be underpowered on hills and straightways.

i have experience and i have test drove the 660 and the 400ex and im going to be test driveing the 450s this weekend. reverse would be a help but i dont mind getting off the quad and moveing it my self. for the 660 would it be worth the coast to buy a lowering kit or is it just a pain

it's not expensive by any means... and they're really really good quality, as are the wheel spacers from CRJPerformance.com. Thats where I got all of mine can't beat em and they have an adjustable rear lowering kit from 1-4 inches. Some good stuff. thats the road I would go... 660R + spacers and lowering kit = hell of a bike.

which one of the 450 would be better for the type of rideing that i do. cause a lil ways down state a new honda delearship opend up and their selling 05-06 450r for $5100 do u think thats a good price and thiers a yamaha shop that are selling the yfz450 for about the same price.
