Default Raptor 660 ????

I am kinda looking to get a new bike, and was looking at the Raptor 660. I heard that these bikes are wheelie happy almost, specially on uphill stuff. Is this true? If so, definitely can't buy this bike and might go to something else.

i have ridden a bunch of raptor 660 and they do want to wheelie but its not like you cant keep the front down.

If your climbing hills just put all your weight to the front of the bike and you wont have any problems as long as the hills arent like 70 degrees.

the bike has a ton of torque and the front is light thats why it wants to wheelie

The raptor is extremely easy to wheelie if you want it too, it has enough torque to take on the most challenging hills too. But it will keep the front end up if want it too through a hill, just watch out making sharp turns at high speeds.

So is it just the torque and power that makes the wheels lift up, or is it truley not front heavy enough that it will go on 2 wheels on a somewhat steep hill and constant throttle.

It is the power and gearing bringing up the front end. You won't have any problems. The alleged "tippiness" is also not as bad as stated.

the center of gravity is a bit higher than other sport bikes

the raptor has more of a tendency to wheelie than most other sportbikes

an inexperienced rider may get bitten a few times before he learns,,,,buy it is fine for the experienced rider

if you are riding it properly,,,the front wheels should only be on the ground for brief priods of time

my bros 660 pulls up pretty easy. If i dump the clutch... two wheels rise no prob. I gotta feather it pretty good to launch smooth and keep em flat where as my 350, 1. doesn't have the trp that the 660 does and it heavy enough in the front so I can dump the clutch and lean a little over the bars and tear off no prob. As far as being tippy... a set of wheel spacers from CRJperformance.com and/or thier lowering kits are an inexpensive way to stable it up.

Default Raptor 660 ????

I just bought a 02 Raptor 660 and I am not that exprierenced of a rider and I have trouble with it coming up when goin up steep hills. It is very torqy in 1st gear. Stands up easy. I was wondering if I extend the swing arm a few inches will it help keep it down goin up the hills?
