The Banshee overall is one awesome ride. I have had one for about two years and I still smile from ear to ear when the power comes on. I ride on trails/woods/old logging roads. I ride all year - including winter and it is a blast. The aftermarket has cured the two biggest weaknesses on the Banshee:1) Chain adjustment is a bitch! I have a lonestar swingarm with round housing bearing carrier. 2) The stock air filter setup is a disaster waiting to happen. Somebody(Cascade?) makes an adapter that will cure this as well.
Kick starting is so easy that I wouldn't count it as a 'con' compared to the new four stokes. Mine has been reliable, too. I have a '99 which I crashed and I am going to pick up my new one today at my local Yamaha dealer, so obviously I like it enough to buy another one. Hope this helps

Whenyou get ready to fix up your banshee give K & K atv a call. They have a buttload of aftermarket parts for the banshee. Both new and used. All their used stuff is in great shape (they dont sell junk). If you can save a few buck buying an aftermarket used part, you will be able to spread your money out a little futher. I also have quite a bit of stuff, so give ma a e-mail if you think of something. I will see what I have. LATER

Ctbanshee:

You nailed it....

K and T Performance in Roy, Utah is the best!

They built my Banshee motor last year and still take the time to talk to me on the telephone anytime I call them! Kim Muchmore is the one I deal with. I highly recommend them. These telephone calls have helped me (and saved big $$$) more than I can explain.

You can reach Kim at K and T at 1-801-825-5870.
