Default EFI controller blues

Hi, I have a 06 raptor and it has aftermarket headers, pipe, and filter. I wrote in before on how the headers get really hot and got the response that I need a efi controller. I don't really have the cash right now to afford one and was curious if it's something that You plug in and adjust your stuff and then unplug, or do you leave it plugged in all the time? If you do unplug is there someone around the eugene, Oregon area that has one that would be willing to share for a few bucks or some beers or something? any help is appreciated. thanks alot. John

The efi controller has to stay on the bike. The headers get hot and glow red, that is normal. A programmer will not change that, only fuel mixture.

with you mods and no controller, you are risking engine damage, you are running very lean
