heres the dilemma i bought a 1998 yamaha big bear 350 4x4 3 weeks ago. now the ujoint is bad as well as the wheel bearings. i have a opportunity to trade for a YFM250 2wheel drive. should i just go ahead and pay for the repairs and forget about the 250 or should i trade for it. I really don't know what to do here. i really don't know much about atvs i am new to this area. any help here is appreciated i really like the big bear but the timberbear is ok to. whats the pros and cons of them both.

 

Keep the big bear and do the repairs. The big bear has more power, suspension travel, ground clearance, and with the 4 wheel drive it can go places you can't go with ANY 2 wheel drive. The engine is similar to the one in several other yamaha 350 quads including warriors, raptor 350's, and wolverines, and has proven itself as a bulletproof reliable powerplant. I don't know much about the timberwolf, but I know how reliable the big bear is, and i'd keep it if I were you.

 

i took the 250 out on the trails today and just hated it for the trails. i bought the big bear for work on wrapping crushed cars with the 250 works better only because of the turning radius but thats all i see on the positive side of the 250
