Default BB 450 edition busted his bubble

this dude came over today to show off his Bill Ballance 450. I asked him how much he paid for it and he said 7100 OTD! I said damn dude you got ripped off; its a left over 05 and I told him you could get a 06 being adversited at this other dealership for $5999 otd.

I felt bad but I guess that the kind of customer the dealers like, one who just pays the asking price no questions asked.

Dude... it aint cool to bash someone who thinks they got a good deal. How would you like it if we all pointed at you and called you stupid, cause thats pretty much the bottom line of what you did. And your number are WAY off. 7100 for a new BB yfz450 is 400 bucks UNDER retail. I don't know what these dealers are advertising, but a REGULAR YFZ has an INVOICE( $0 profit at this point) of a public hair over $6K. That dealership made a touch more than 500 bucks on that 450 (not alot in the eyes of the salesman)... but considering the majority of dealers wont discount a specialty quad such as that, it wasn't a bad deal on either side. He got a BB450 for 400-500 less than retail and the salesman still made a tiny bit. And thats another thing... why are the salesman always made out to be the bad guys? If you guys were doing something or selling something and were argued with over price the way we get it, you'd be furious and unwilling to budge. Automotive sales, be it ATV's or cars/trucks, are one of the VERY VERY few products that are rarely sold at face value... Next time I'm in the grocery store, I'll get that price of bread down a little! And I don't think I should pay retail for gas either! But back to my point, if you don't think he got a deal, don't be a pr*ck just to be a pr*ck... let him bask in his glory. YOU didn't pay yhe money, what do you care what someone else paid?

my point was to shop around and get the most bang for your buck. If he would have done some research he could of had an 06 and save about a grand and put that towards upgrades.

as far as gas and groceries, I guess if you have money out the ears then you can stop at the first station or store and pay whatever they are asking. For me I pass a few gas stations on the way to work everyday and pick the best price; at times its saved me as much as 15 cents per gallon.

I have worked at a car dealer ship for a while and this post was not a knock on salesmen.

And if some cocky kid comes around my house out of his way wanting to brag about his new bike and how he got a great deal wanting to race me, I am going to let him know that the price was off.

Some people tell the truth, and don't sugar coat it! Sounds to me like you are a salesman of some sort, so your used to sugar coating everything...just my opinion
everyone I know....knows how I am....If you do a good job...I'll tell ya.....if you do something stupid....I'll tell ya. (read the quote at the bottom of my sig)
