Default I love my Griz, divorced my Brute!!

Traded my 06 Brute in for an 06 Griz, I posted my reveiw of the Brute and the reason why I did over in the Kawi section under "My Brute review. The reasons for my trade."
Would love to see some backup there by some of you trusted and loyal Griz owners. The reaction by most of the Brute owners have been somewhat unpleasent and in my book they have no points to make about my review, there just knee jerking. Some really think that because the Griz has been around so long it needs updated, while I agree to a degree, its still out preforms the Brute overall. If you read my reveiw carefully you will see that my reason for my trade were mostly suspension related.

Please if you do post there, be respectful and kind.

Thanks,
States

Are you still trying to talk yourself into having done the right thing? You made a choice, a personal one, and now you need to move on. In my experience with Yamaha, specifically to snowmobiles, they had a decent ride compared to other makes. Typically they weigh more and in sledding, horsepower to weight ratio is key to a lot of riders. My good buddy traded his in for a lighter weight, stiffer riding suspension of an arctic cat (like me) because at trail speeds they take the bang better. We don't exactly cruise when we ride. It is all personal preference and how you ride. We spend way too much $ on these things to banter for too long on them. They all have their pros and cons. I rode my old 04 sportsman and immediately jumped on my friend's 660 Griz and I will tell you the ride on the Sportsman was better. They would tell you the same thing. But my Sportsman was only a 500 and the zip on the Griz was obviously better. I now have a BF but if I would have come across the Griz with the Carbon Fiber accents a second time I might be on the Griz.

states i can understand what u are talking about as i have rode the bf and the king q they both kinda had the tippy feeling in hard cornering and braking. there is no doubt when u get on the throttle these bike will run. but after a day of riding 15 different big bores of all makes and models back to back over and over the same trail again and again my personal preference was a polaris 800 with the grizz second and the rincon third. my choices was not based directly on straight line acceleration it was a combination of speed handling and comfort. if it was on power alone the brute was up there with the 800. we had a about a 1/4 mile run up an old road at one point on the trail and it was rough and muddy and rutted out. after several passes on each bike the brute and the king was the hardest to control you could not hold er wide open for very long as you was all over the trail. the polaris,s you could hold wide open the yamaha and the rincon was almost as good. i dont dislike the bf but its not what i would buy next. i would like to test a 800 bomb as i have not been on one to compare...also all of these bikes were bone stock..... just another opinion not a war!!

You know, I have a riding buddy that has a Bomb. I saw it perform well in the mud pit at Hatfield McCoy Dirt Week two years ago. Even with a girl on it. I know they can do some good trail riding but I can't get past how ugly they are. They look like some kind of Isuzu car or something. Just couldn't purchase one for myself. I too liked my Polaris but with the damn radiator being located so low it would gunk up with mud and need flushed out all the time. The ride was nice though...and with the ground clearance, I could get through or farther in a mud hole than others with bigger displacement could...even with stock tires.

I agree Zack the Bomb looks arent the best, however I would give anything right now to get a girl on the back of my machine.
Also you being at Hatfield McCoy, you plan on attending the spring jam at Coal Creek Tn (Windrock) April 19-23rd? Its about a 5 hour drive for us and they tell me its great. We have about 20 wheelers in our group so far.
