Default hotcam question

I have quite a few mods on my 2002 686 Raptor........I went to the Stage 2 Hot Cam and I did make some major changes on jetting. A lot larger.

What are you running now for jetting?

Plan on re-jetting.

Also, if I were doing a mod like a new CAM and DIDN'T have to put larger jets in I would be suspicius weather or not I was going to se any improvement.

More Air + More Fuel = More POWER!!

My advice is to just go with the Stage 2 and be done with it.

naw, I dont wanna go with the stage 2 because I dont want to change the valves springs, etc. I'll stick with the stage 1
My jetting right now is 148-146(i got a full exhaust system)
So you guys think that I will have to change the jetting?

Are those dyno jets?

If you are going to pull the lid off and are 1000 to 2000 ft, go with 165/170 Mikuni mains with #25 pilots.

Removing the airbox lid will flow more air than adding the S1 cam. If you were to change the cam only and nothing else, i'd say that you wouldn't have to rejet. S1 is a low to mid range. The change will be insignificant.

I dyknow. Dyno jets flow more fuel for their size. There are some conversion charts on the net, but somesay they are bogus. Get rid of that dynojet kit and put Mikuni jets, OEM needles and bigger pilots. It is easier to set up your jetting. Put the OEM springs back in too...they suck. It makes your slides bounce in the bumps causing your motor to sputter.
