Raptor airbox lid, to open or not to open?
#1
That is the question. Are there really any gains to a lidless box? There are some options out there, K&N filter/lid $85, Outerwears Lids $40-80, Stock cut-out lid. Doesn't seem like the 660 would take more air cfm than the lid opening would allow.

Raptor airbox is extremely restrictive. There is a huge gain by removing it. The seat is really close to your box and restrics air too, even with the lid off.
But, who knows how to jet your eldelbrock carb for that?? You will just have to trial and error it. Sounds like fun.

You can see the entire setup in photo #1 in my photos page. Click the camera icon under my name.
I paid $500 for it. Includes the cast aluminum manifold, carb and the trick but possibly restrictive aluminum intake box that connects to the stock airbox. You can also remove the airbox and aluminum intake box and attach K&N SN-2510 filter and a filter wrap directly to the carb. I will be testing this setup as soon as I get the filter in the mail.
