Great quad, tons of speed, not really a trail machine but that can be overcame with paticular mods. Remeber 2 strokes do require more maintanence.

What part of Texas are you in?

They are a great machine if you like adding performance parts and working on quads, they will keep you busy.I wouldnt say they are no good for woods riding,it just takes a little more skill as a rider. If you are up to the task a Banshee is just as fast as any thing in the woods. For drag racing its probably your best bet,a few mods DONE CORRECTLY will make it a rocket. If you want a more easy to handle, less maintainence, leave stock kind of quad than a 400ex or raptor is for you.

maintenance has been basic for me until now. Don't test a piped benshee or you'll run and get a 500$ pipe. The difference is huge between piped shees and stock ones.
I haven't had any troubles 2 stroke related yet.
I'd say it can be used as woods machine...between 2 straights. All I want to say is that if you only ride woods, a nice 4 stroke will probably be better. But if you SOMETIMES ride in woods, you will not dislike it (that's what I do)

I only ride in the woods sometimes and the rest of the time i ride on gravel roads and rock pits.
Would a banshee be good in a about a 2 or 3 acre feild, that has just 2 little creek crossings (i mean just mere itty bitty crossings like 1 or 2 feet wide and about a foot deep.
Would th fmf sst pipes be good for getting lwer bottom end? I heard someone tell me that under about 15mph on a banshee sucks.
And i can go over 15 on my trails. what tires do you guys recomined for snow?? Because i heard the stock ones suck.

If you want torque (and no highend) get a 2into1 pipe and carbs. You will get a whole much more lowend, but will loose high end.
Heard that fmf gnarly are good torque (that's what they're designed for).
Creek crossimg hasn't been a problem for me, if you leave the airbox lid on, and there's grip, you can cross easily. Again, if you have enough grip (no high revv!!) you'll cross even 2 feet deep creeks (I can) or a bit more. The deepest I went was 2" over the kickstarter (this is sure since I had to plunge my had in thw f***ing cold water), I couldn't go on for that simple reason that the bottom was liquid mud and it gave me absolutely no grip. I don't know if it's mine, but the engine hates water. When I get home and spray with the water to take off all the mud, it takes me quite some time to get it started again. That time (see the pics on my site -check signature-) I wasn't able to kickstart it. My pal had to pull me (pulled by a scrambler...aaaargh ) and after 200 meters of pulling(I had put it in gear and let the engine "turn"), it started and it was over. Could ride again, and I haven't had any problem since. Don't forget to empty
the stator case regularly. It fulls with water and sand and everything rusts inside..berk
Why would it be a pain under 15mph? I ride occasionally (to go to a sand pit) a TIGHT wood trail (I think a DS wouldn't fit in some places -no joke-), I'm running in first gear right above idle and no clutch (no power -> grip). It's no pain, althoug I would bet a 400EX would be lighter for the arms. If you say it's no good under 15mph because of suspension harshness...you're wrong. I'm 150lbs and it's ALWAYS harsh. I don't mind since I can feel where I put my wheels, and I'm always standing up (I'm a former MX rider, so never sit down), so I don't really feel it as a pain in the back.
If you change tires, I would put realtors for snow (haven't tested them yet, just read that they wouldn't build up with snow). I also have been told about mudrunners, or bearclaws (that's what I have). 22" is the height I have (with stock gearing) and it's no problem (stalling or whatever).
