Default Yamaha 660 Raptor VS. Yamaha 700 Raptor

Today April 29 th i went to an open practice with my completely stock 700r. It was also my first time on an MX track. I did fairly well and the raptor did great. I was hitting decent size doubles. There were full blown race atvs out there and they werent beating me by that much. FYI there were 4 LT-z 450 and man where they fast they can handle so good

Last summer at the dunes there was a new 700 bone stock with paddles, he hadn't even taken the airbox lid off. My kids were on our 01 660, piped airboxed and jetted, and beat him continuously like a rented mule. Racing uphill on steep stuff. I guess the 700's respond pretty well once you do a few things but this guy was disappointed getting his head handed to him.

All things considered though I'd get a 700 over a 660 if I were buying today.

so a stock bike against a moded bike and they beat him and it was your kids right?

mybe he out wieghed them prolly by 100 pds or more and maybe he was new to riding the 700 but i know for a fact that my 700 will leave you in the dust everytime becuase i was doing that to all the rappy 660 last week not 1 beat me

I think the only thing they are going to do with the 700 raptor over the next few years is make it a true 700, hopefully. Its only a 686, a full 14cc's lower. If they added bigger displacement it would be even mightier

Not even a comparison....

Model '01 to '05 = Craptor...
Model '06 = Raptor...

Yamaha 700r is better on every detail.....

Yes a stock 700 against a "modded" 660--pipe, a K&N, and proper jetting.
Yes my kids weighed less than him.

And they didn't beat him by a tire, like I said they beat him like a mule, several bike lengths up the hill. Just making comparisons for information's sake, don't get your panties all in a wad there scooter.
