California raptor
#2
The only difference is the cali model is 33hp and the 49state model is 38hp stock if your going to change the exhaust then dont worry which one you buy. I'm sure you can I bought my raptor in West Virgina and I live in PA, although CA has strict emissions I believe but I dont see why not you'll have to call a shop out of state and see and also call local to see if there is a reason you cant. IF they say you cant ask them why there is always away around it if they say no. I dont see it being any different then if you just bought a quad and then you moved there shortly after but who knows I'm sure someone from CA could help you on purchasing a raptor out of state more than I can. Good luck and if you get one you'll love it.

If you try to register a 49 state bike in cali, you'll be stuck with red sticker registration meaning you can only ride it 8 months of the year. Your best off buying in cali and changing the exhaust. You can verify the reg thing with DMV..

Yamaha has told my dealer that the difference between Calif Raptors and 49 state is the CDI box.
The ignition curve specs are different. All other parts INCLUDING exhaust are the same according to Yamaha. If you buy an out of state Raptor and try to register it in Calif the DMV will issue you a RED sticker.
