If it runs it dosen't have much water in the carb anymore. Just get some gas dryer at the store and put it in the tank and ride it.
Oh, and I would not let this friend work on your quad.

thanks doctorturbo for the reply and trust me he won't, but you don't think nothing was damged in the motor do you
I'am thinking it would be diffrent if water got in the oil.

I'd drain the gas into a clear container. A dry clear container. You'll see any water in the bottom, and it's not to hard to figure out a way to seperate it. I'd also remove the float bowl or even just the plug that gives ou access to the main jet. The water will always settle at the lowest point. Sometimes you can get it all out of the tank, but have some still in the bowl.

Sparky is correct. There is very good chance that there is water in the carb bowl.

Remove the bowl and dry with a paper towel. The work is not hard to do, but, it may be better to have someone else perform the job.

yeah, I had a buddy who said he just cleaned his carb, but it was running like crap. So I took his carb off figureing that he put something together wrong. When I took it apart it was full of water, so I jokingly asked him if he put it in a 5 gallon bucket and washed it with dishsoap or something. When he said yes it made me laugh, until I realized he wasn't joking. That made me stop laughing out of astonishment, but then laugh even harder.

So, my point in that little story is that when you get water in the carb, it stays at the bottom while the gas is getting sucked off the top. Often it will idle, but die after you've given it a little gas. Then it will idle down, and more fuel will enter the carb and still float on top.

Nice….

That one ranks up there with the story another told of draining his oil, then, cranking over the engine to pump every last bit of “used” oil from the oil pan.

It is fun to read thru the forums to see what people choose to do with their quads.

LOL that's a good one. My buddy was changing the oil in his car. He had it all drained, and new filter in. So he procedes to fill it up when he heard a leaking noise. He forgot to put the drain plug back in!!!!!
