Default Going for 686!!!!

Well i blew out second gear on my 2001 raptor last weekend down in Winchester. While the mechanics are in the engine i'm gonna have them put in the 686 kit. What exactly do i need for it to be reliable and not break on me in the near future? Piston, cam, intake, crank, valves, rods? Thanx for the help. Im gonna sell my snowmobile to fund this project so a little less than $3K is my budget. What do i have to work with?

Its what ever you want.....what you need though is a new rod....pistion..(11.5.1) or higher...stage 2 cam or bigger....if you got 3k to fund it...I would put a stoker crank in (2mm) but thats just me.....when you get done with the 686 build...It makes them a whole new monster..LOL
