Figure 400 for the cheapest works shocks, fronts only, and another 300 to get your rear revalved or 800 for a new rear if the warrior shock isn't worth revalving.

You'd do a lot better with an extended axle and a-arms which can chew at least another 800 out of your wallet in no time flat.

Default suspension question

depends on what you weigh, but for sure get something for the front, anything will be an improvement. I just finished a race using my wifes rappy 350 and had Gforce wheel spacers all around, everything else was stock. I set the fronts as stiff as they go and left the rear alone due to time constraints. I am 200lbs and I beat the hell out of that thing, it handled the whoops very well and didnt bottom as long as I didnt hit them too hard. The rear was better than the front and would have been great if I would have increased the preload to max. The front totaly sucked, that is what kept me from going all out, I could hit the whoops in 4th and peg it out but if my timing got a little out or the power would not carry me to the next face the front would dive and bottom out hard causing it to bounce and get squirley on me and I would have to slow down to get it under control. I also used my tires 23's in the front and 22's in the rear. So the real answer to you question is unless your just dragracing, the most important mod for your quad is the suspension, so spend as much as you can afford to make it top notch. If your budget says works then get the best works you can afford for the front and save up for the rear later. If you can get the front built up with a arms and shocks first the rear will be ok for awhile, then get it done when you got some more cash on hand.
