Default Axle bearing removal-banshee

how do i get the axle bearins out of my banshee's carrier? do i have to have them pressed out by a machine shop? i got the seals out no prob.. but the bearings r toast.. and will not come out

also the metal tube between the bearins.. is that suppose to be loose or is there osmethign that hold that... or is my carrior shot?

Default Axle bearing removal-banshee

block the carrier up on a piece of wood, then using a hammer and brass drift, drive the bearing out from the oppisite side, hit it at twelve oclock, six oclock, three oclock, nine oclock, while moving the center spacer to the side as you go. When you get ready to put the new bearings in put them in the freezer over night, and put the carrier in the oven at 200 degrees. Handle the carrier with a glove and the bearings will drop right in. let it cool, then install your seals.
