i have an 03' 660 and usually when i start it i hear a noise its kinda a cross between a grinding and a really loud humming. after a few seconds or if i tap the throttle it goes away till the next time i start it. would it be the starter not disengaging? any help would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like your one way starter clutch is going out. Replace it with a L&A clutch and gear and be done with it.
