Default kodiak valves

If you can tell me what exactly I have to remove to be able to adjust my valves, I'll gladly buy you a hot fudge sundae. Or a beer if you prefer.

Thanks

Just did mine but the ticking is still there. take off the gas tank and pull starter. YOu can do the exhaust from the the right front wheel well. Don't have to do anything but turn right.

Mine is ticking fom the bottom right side. Not sure what it is?

Thanks razor, any other tips. I could use some more detail on how to remove the tank. And on adjusting the valves in general.

Best bet is to buy a service manual they are like $20 bucks and worth every penny. Has step by step instructions for anything you would want to do with all your torques, gaps, and any other kinda of measurements your quad needs.

and for people like me with decent mechanical abilities but not much atv work experiance it has lots of pictures

I just yanked this of a post from a week ago

Chances are you will be removing the fuel tank and maybe front plastic...then popping the recoil pull start cover off or whatever to find a timing mark to get top dead center...next you pop the caps off above the valves...you should be on the compression stroke.....stick the feeler guage between the top of the valve and bottom of the rocker arm and gap it in the specs for your bike using the nut to tighten or loosen the gap.... tighten the lock nut and put it back together....

PS..Get the service manual or have it done by a mechanic

Took mine apart and checked mine today....My intake checked .003 of an inch, the exhaust was between .0065-.007 so no adjustments were needed yet! Awesome the quad is almost a year old and seems to me better and better the more I ride it.

I checked the lash saturday, and it was in spec. so I saved a few buck there, but now she's running for crap. It'll start and idle fine but if I try to give it some gas it sputters and spits and won't move. I can get it to move a bit if I choke it.
