How reliable is a YFZ450?

There very reliable i have a 470 stroker kit on mine and a bunch of head work and it is just as reliable now as i was when i got it off the show room floor havnt had any problems with it at all, and i like to run the crap out of it ( in one direction) on the strip

Default How reliable is a YFZ450?

Man I have rode mine hard since I got it, drag racing & hill climbing (high rpms) at the sand dunes! Raced it in a grand prix series! I have always rode it hard. Not a problem one, just do the maintenance that you are suppost to! Good Luck

Default How reliable is a YFZ450?

Any 4 stroke quad can be very reliable when it's maintained properly. Being a high performance motor you will have to do more maintainance to keep it in top condition though. Rebuilds will be closer together than a more mildly tuned motor like the 400's, but it's still pretty reasonable.
