Check for spark and fuel. Unplug the spark plug wire, plug it into a spare spark plug, and touch the threaded part of the spark plug to ground. Crank the engine and watch for a spark on the tip. If you crank the engine and don't get a spark that gives you somewhere to start. If it does spark, then you probably have a fuel issue.

It dosnt have a spark. Tried new plug then checked for power at the coil, no power. All line and connections are tight and not rusted. Is there a way to test the CDI?

Usually when a CDI goes bad it burns up, and you can tell by just smelling the back of it.

I think it's more likely that it's a problem with the stator or pickup coil. A service manual can tell you how to test them.

I dont have a service manuel so any info you can post to help me with testing it would be a big help. Where is the pickup coil? This quad have less then 50hr's on it and has never been in deep water.

The pickup coil and stator are in the left side of the motor. There will be a few wires coming out of the engine, that's where it is. I can't really tell you how to test it, because every manufacturer/model is different. A repair manual is a good investment, i recommend that you get one.
