Raptor 660 Stumbles/Sputters while Cruising
#1
Hey guys,
Been away from this forum for a while and I need help. My 660 has a Dynojet kit 146/144 with clip on 4th groove and fuel mixture screws 3 turns out like the instructions say. My buddy has the exact same setup and his runs great. Mine accelerates (and idles) great but when we are cruising down the road (3rd gear, 4th gear, whatever) not accelerating or decelerating - just maintaining speed around 1/4 to 1/3 throttle I get a stumble or stutter. The center of the plug is white (lean) and I'm not sure what is wrong with it.
What adjustment is made to richen this part of the power band? What could be different on mine? Float level? I've had the carbs apart several times and checked for dirt. We purchased them together new in 2003 and I did the work on both machines.
Even in stock condition when it was new I would get a slight stumble while cruising but now it is much worse with the jetting.
I keep it up at our cabin so I only brought home the carbs. I need them tweeked before I head back there this weekend.
Thanks Guys!

Here is a table showing which carb parts affect certain throttle positions. I think I had something similar to this come with my DynoJet kit, cant find it though. Hope this helps, not good with carbs, I just had this bookmarked.
EDIT:
I was looking around and also found this.

Tuning guides are great but, what if the bike has been running fine and now all of a sudden it isn't in the mid-range.
Anyone have any issues with the slides sticking? Vac. issues? Thoughts?
