Default raptor 350 help!

I just bought a k&n filter for my 04 raptor 350. I'm a little concerned because it doesn't fit as well as i'd like and im worried about it messing up my engine. it fits really snug (which is not nessassarly a bad thing) but it looks like that will mess up the gasket. i don't want to tear it up now! is there some kind of conversion kit i need or some other way to fix this prob. if anybody knows anything about this please let me know! thanks.

The K&N drop-in filters are crap on the raptor 350, they just don't fit right no matter what you do because they have a poorly designed seal that is too thick. You should have sprung for a k&n clamp-on kit instead, yamaha's airbox design is severely flawed compared to a simple clamp-on filter.

hey recon.. i am thinking of modifying my airbox to accept a basic clamp on filter... as well as get the same airflow as running just a regular filter...
