If you're beating 450s with your 400 as you claim, and want to continue doing so, don't get the 700. You'll just have to drop more money in it to get it as fast as yours. My buddy has pipe/power commander/filter (all Trinity) and a bunch of other little mods (suspension/carbon fiber hood and lots more), and he cant' keep up with my HRC/piped 450R at the dunes. And I weigh more than him. The Raptor is nice, but it's pretty heavy.

If your buddies 700R has all Trinity stage IV mods then he doesn't have a power commander, he has the Trinity controller built by dobeck that uses carb logic for tuning.
From what I've seen in real world riding conditions the Trinity stage IV equiped 700's don't live up to their hype.
I have no problem at all keeping up with 450's and I'm fat and old

Im not going to get into which is faster because i really dont care, but calling the 700 heavy is a joke.
Lets just compare
Honda 450r electric start 363lbs
Honda 450r kick start 357lbs
Suzuki Z400 372lbs
Suzuki 450 368lbs
Yamaha 450 350lbs
Raptor 700r 396lbs
While the 700 is heavier than the rest it is not by enough to call a 700 quad under 400lbs heavy.
I would also be surprised how accurate the weight of the YFZ 450 is since no matter the change or if you get the Bill Balance edition they always list them at 350lbs
