The raptors reverse is scary fast. Tires spin too much when needing reverse, no matter what terrain except for tar the tires spin!!! Anything i can do to dampen the reverse gear to give less spinning?

Just ride the clutch,but I know what you mean reverse needs to be a granny gear.The gear is way to tall I dont know what yamaha is thinking.They must have decided the ratio after a liquid lunch that day.

 

I've never heard of the Raptor's reverse being to fast. Stock there's a rev limiter that makes the reverse almost useless on most trail situations. Does it have a reverse rev limit bypass installed?

 

The 01 didnt have the reverse rev limiter on them.I think they started in 02 after kids were doing 60 miles an hour in reverse.Hey paint ball every time I go to stonybrook park I see quads on trailers in the area.Is there any nice trails near there?I live in rochester.

Has anyone had any problems bypassing the reverse limiter? I was thinking of doing this but I wasn't sure if the reverse gear was strong enough to handle any kind of load.
