Grizzly clutch kit vs kodiak 400 clutch weights
Ok... I'm looking into installing a clutch kit on my 06 grizzly... I've had 1 guy say that I should put the kodiak 400 clutch weights on my grizz, and this will gimme a couple hundred or so RPMs at the bottom end.
Has anyone done either? How well does your clutch kit work?
Have you seen the kodiak 400 clutch weights mod? Is it better? What about reliability?
thanks...

Theres alot more to clutching and clutch kits than just the rollers.
Yes, using the weights from the 400, will delay the engagement, and make the motor rev a bit higher before the tranny starts to pull. But youll also notice the backshifting isnt gonna be what it used to be, and top end will suffer as well. Theres a tradeoff in everything which gets modified.
Clutch kits come with lighter rollers, and a new secondary spring,(to fix the backshifting /top end issues), and new heavier springs, for the centrifical clutch, which raises the rpms higher before engagement.
Its kind of like jetting, its a package deal, or things dont work right. All three need to be modified, or you probably wont like the results. It certainly wont hurt to try, and if you like it, to leave them in there.
