Just Bought A Big Bear!
Hi all.
New to the forum. Been lurking for a while.
The Name is Bob, Live in St. Louis, MO. Electrician, Hunter, Fishaman, Partier!
I just bought a BRAND NEW '05 Big Bear, $4000 out the door from J&W in Washington, MO.
Took it out last weekend and put about 60 miles on. We've got property in a 2700 acre campground thats loaded with trails.
So far so good, yeah it's geared low, but it sure pulled the hills and devoured the mud!
Bought it mostly for hunting but it'll do just fine on the trails. 40 mph feels faster than it used to.
Could be that I'm showing my age.
Stuck a fuel filter on as soon as I got it home from the dealer, why on earth wouldn't yamaha do this to begin with?
Ordered a set of American ATV Floorboards yesterday.
Trying to find a set of stone guards for the headlights? Anyone know of a place or at least a brand?
I think I could end up spending as much on mods as I did for the quad.
Also looking for a utility trailer, close to St. Louis?
Until Next Time.....

Congrats on the Big Bear! It is pretty easy to spend $$ on mods. I agree, stock fuel filters would be nice, but they are cheap and easy to install, soooo... If you are just going to pull the one quad, you can get a decent trailer at the local lumber yard usually. Also you could look for a used one from a lawn service company or something. These trailers are pretty simple and hard to wear out, with some fresh wheel bearings and maybe a little welding, they can last forever.
