700 Raptor Questions...

The problem with the Banshee is that to make it have a good top end, you are most likely going to hurt the trailability of it some. A 700R may very well be three times(or more) the trailbike as a Banshee. Of course, the Banshee has MUCH more hop up potential thanks to the awesome motor and strong aftermarket support. If you were going to build one up, I would just buy a decent used one and go all through it. Much cheaper initially and you will likely get the added benefit of getting some aftermarket goodies at the time of the sale. Few people leave the Banshee stock for long , so you could potentially get your 100mph quad right off the bat.

Mmmmm... now you've definitely got me thinkin banshee... but I just dunno, cause I do want a quad for trails as thats all it is around here (southern Ontario)....
But I will be on the roads a lot to gettin from place to place, and I dont wanna have a problem with cops so I do need the speed

I can't imagine why you'd want to go 100mph on any quad, but if that's your goal, just go big on the front sprocket and small on the back. A stock uncorked 700r could likely pull it. If you want to get there quickly, use the suggestions from all the other folks. Are your life and medical insurance policies up to date?

I guess 80mph on my bros 800 Outlander just doesn't quite cut it for me... I want the speed... We'll see... I found a great site for mods for the banshee...

this is what you do. Buy the raptor 700. Buy a bigger front sprocket, (like im talkin 18) and see if that gets you to 100 mph, but it will take forever! Then with that sprocket on it, start modding the bike out! pipe, air filter, controller, bigger piston, cam, and you are going to need to make the ergonomics set up for the speed, so a +4 or +6 rear axle AT LEAST and like +4 +1 a arms, lonestar or w.e, plus ur gonna need a longer swing arm, +2 or +4, If i were you, id get the bike ready for the speed before i give it the speed. I dont think you know how fast 100 is on a quad.. Ive only touched 116 on my magical banshee jk..

Well ive done about 160mph on a crotch rocket (GSXR750)
And 82 mph now on a quad... So I have a good idea what it would feel like... But no i do not want it to take 20 minutes to get there

Ive had my R6 up to 167mph and thats damn fast. If you do everything you can to a banshee without boring it out itll do in the 90's (without changing stock sprockets). Plus as long as you leave the motor alone a banshee is still more than capable of being ridden on a trail. So that sounds like a winner to me.
My buddy has a 96 shee with. Pipes, reeds, filter, jets, and 22" tires he was clocked at 103mph on pavement

I have had my Raptor 700 for about two month now. All I can say is that no bike will be touching it this year. They took the suspension straight off the YFZ450, so it got rid of its tipping problems. I was at the dunes with my friend who has an '03 Rapto 660. I was telling him that I couldn't ride wheelies. He got on it and he couldn't get the friend end up without some serious effort. I got on his and the front end cam right up. The 700 will definitely be the #1 bike this year
