Has anyone had problems with their raptors smoking when in fifth gear riding hard it starts smoking bad "james bond smoke screen bad" please help me out. I have bypassed the reverse rev switch could that cause this problem?
Because after i bypassed the reverse it seemed to start smoking in fifth but not positive

also it seems to not have as much power as it used to

that may be so, but would it not do it in all the gears and not just 5th
i was told by a buddy it could be the cdi gone stupid which was causing we think
the reverse rev to kick in when goin forward thats why we bypassed it by grounding out the reverse sensor

 

the quad smoking has nothing to do with the cdi or reverse rev limiter....


if it's a white smoke.. maybe look into the cooling system... you may jsut have a leaking gasket or soemthing...

if it is not white smoke then it is a really bright grey but the riders behind be say it smells like oil
