whats a better deal for a beginner/ novice rider, a 05 yfz 450 for $3500 or a 99 400ex for $1200. the yamaha is newer and faster, but is the worth 3x the price?

 

If the 400ex is in good shape then $1200 is cheap but I would get the 450 for $3500.

 

I would buy bouth of thoes in a minnet for thoes prices. In michigan the 400EX runs like 2500$ easy and the YFZ will pull 4500$

As for downey, if you have the spare money and plan on always owning a quad go with the YFZ. In this case you cant go wrong with either one, but i think i would have to say YFZ. As for the 400ex if you dont wanna buy it PM me iwth the specs on it. My bro wants to buy one and the fam lives in NY.

 

well i just bought the 400ex. i would of rather had the yfz, because its basically better all around, but its not worth 3x the price. i realy dont think i will get 3x the fun out of it. all i do is trail riding so the 400ex should be perfect.

I wish ya'll were closer, i'd definitly buy the yfz. Is it on the web anywhere? That 400ex was a good deal too, have fun with it, and if you want some tips to make it faster for free just ask, because my friend's flys now and we haven't spent anything on it.

 

I would buy it If you were near michigan but I dont have time to go that far, bytime I get there i will have like 4000 in it with gas and all.
