Will the Warrior be competative in handling, suspension, etc. with the EX? I'm thinking about selling my warrior to beat the EX's by joining them and modding the honda. What's your opinion?

I think that a jump from a 350 to a 500 would be a big step. I think that will just completely junk up your quad. It will be very tempramental and break down all the time. I would maybe (only maybe) bore it out 60 over and buy a race piston and change your compression to 11:1. That should give it all the engion it needs to turn the new sprockets you need to buy for top end. Lets say 15/37 (almost the same as the 400s, they are 15/38)

T400,
I don't think there is anything you can do to make the warrior's handling completetive with the 400ex. The design is just too old. You can spend money on a-arms and shocks, but it still wouldn't handle as well as an ex and you'd have a lot of money wraped up in your warrior that you would never be able to get back. If you can afford it, you would be alot better off getting a new ride. Trade the warrior for a 400ex and then you can add mods to smoke your buddies.

If you want to take on a 400ex, you are going to have to step up to the 500 kit if you want that. A guy I know has a 410 Warrior and he is no competition. If you want to keep up with your friends, just get the 400. You will be really happy with the EX stock or modded. Good luck with your choice.

The reason I have a warrior is because it has reverse when the 400ex gets stuck I can just put my warrior in reverse.

I had a 92 Warrior that had the 435 bore & stroke kit that Four Stroke Tech did it was awsome. Along with the kit it had WB trail cam, titanium retainer & hd springs, ported polished head, 38 mm carb, DG exhaust, barnett hd clutch and 14f 39r gearing. In a sand drag it would beat a stock 250R and a piped one would get out first but not pull any farther ahead.

I did all this in 93 and ran it hard, racing hare scrambles and ice racing for 5 years with out a problem. Done right and slightly conservative it should last no problem. One thing to watch out for is it will over rev and float the valves after these mods (there is no rev limiter) I did this during an ice race. The exhaust valve hit the piston and bent luckily that was it. I did also upgrade suspension too.

Warrior`s can be made fast but not the fastest and it does cost roughly $2000 to do that`s what I had in the engine alone in 93. Plus at that time it was the fastest 4 stroke stock, not anymore, personally I don`t think you could make one truely competitive with today`s machine`s.
HTH and Good Luck

If you make your warrior beat a 400 then it becomes unreliable. If you want to beat your buddy then get a Raptor if you can find one. They are awsome. My buddy just bought one. they will smoke the 400's. Not saying anything bad about the 400's my brother has one and it is awsome in motor and suspension. but the raptor is faster. it is faster than a stock banshee.
and it has reverse still.
