? skilled mechanic lol. I have bought my 2001 raptor 660 for $2400 and it had a deacent list of mods and I have not had to toutch it for two years now. It has been a great quad. Just dont buy one beat to he!! and you will be ok. I am also thinging about buying a 2002 special edition raptor in great condition 10 miles from me because I like the raptors so much and people on here have got me scared about the 01 tranny thing and my list of mods is growing witch means more stress on it.

There was nothing wrong with the 02 raptors i dont believe. I bought an 02 raptor that i found in a local cycle trader for only 2800. The only thing i've had to replace is the starter clutch. Try atvtraderonline.com its the web page for cycle trader and you can search by state, price, whatever. There was a raptor in there last week in georgia for only 2600 with a moose pipe and nerfs. Probly bought by now tho! lol

I dont see whats wrong with the 02? From what Ive read, the only probs with the 02+03 (since the tranny issue was resolved from 01) is the one-way issues. Ive been checking around on that subject, and for longevity of the one-way its recommended to turn idle up so it doesnt stall easy and always start it in neutral.
I got mine for 4000, 02 660- but it had barely been ridden. Probably less than 30 hrs. They are out there, just gotta find one. I had to drive 18 hrs round trip for this one. I think a lot of people shy away from the 660 because its so wheelie prone and unpredictable sometimes.
