not unless u change the head pipe and silencer...or take off the air box. If you do anything go full system with airbox lid off, if you wanna spend money

Id turn your idle mixture screws out a little more. 2.5-3 is the general rule of thumb, but with the arrestor removed I had to crank mine out another half.

I was just looking at removing mine today. Is there a secret to getting it out? Mine seems to be in fairly tight and there isn't much to grab hold of. I was planning on removing the airbox lid and re-jetting

I mauled mine all up getting the pos out of there. Had to heat it up like crazy with a torch, spray some penetrant (like pb) take a pipe wrench and twist and pull until it came out. Took me about 10 mins of constant pulling twisting to get her unstuck.

That's what I was afraid of. I'll have to find someone with a torch and knowing how things go for me your 10 minutes will turn into an hour for me.

Do you just have to remove the small screw below the exit hole? What's the larger bolt in the middle on the bottom of the pipe for?

i just got some good big vice-grips and wd-40 and just pulled and pulled and pulled until it was out, dont forget to take off the little bolt at the bottom of the spark arrestor that holds it to the pipe

guess mine had about 3 more years of rust mites holding hands that needed to be beat out..lol

I soaked the crap out of it with pb blaster, waited about 2 hrs and heated it up with a propane torch and still mauled it. You could use a oxy/acetalyne torch but be careful cause the metal sure did bend easy with the propane torch. I started out with a vice grip, but ended up taking a bf monkey wrench to get it loose.

The other bolt doesnt hold the arrestor-when you get the thing out youll see how small it is. I was surprised.
