Default Raptor jetting

I have an 05 Raptor that I'm trying get jetted right. I pulled the baffle/spark arrestor out of the stock pipe and added a Twin Air filter. I had to jet it to 157.5/152.5 and 25 pilots to get it to run right. Thats five sizes up from stock with the air box lid on! And the power doesn't seem much different. Now I put on a HMF slip-on and its back firing out the pipe when I gun it. I can't believe I have to go up more yet and it doesn't get better when I pull off the lid. Am I doing something wrong here? Please help.

hey buy a jet kit and save yourself some head ache. I use the gytr kit that tells you what to use for stock pipe, aftermarket pipe with airbox lid on or off. Give me a day to find the paper and i can tell you what they say to jet to.

i found my gytr settings and for a piped bike with the air box lid on you should be at 145-150 with 22.5 pilot jets. that is for a gytr pipe. you should be around that.

Yeah, you've got something off. Why did you go with bigger pilots? Did you readjust your mixture screws with the bigger pilots? I would think you would be a little rich right now if anything. Always place the left carb jet first so we might know if you have them backwards or not cause it does get the smaller jet.......like this 152.5/157.5......to avoid any confusion. Are you trying to jet with a lid or without (cause there will be a difference)?

Hate to jump in on someone elses thread, but since youve got that reference-how about 02 raptor 660 stock pipe with spark arrestor removed, outerwears replacing lid-what jet sizes?

Thanks

I'm running with the air box lid on, and I got a GYTR jet kit and it made a huge difference by just changing the needles. I still have the fatter pilots in , plus the 152.5/157.5 mains and it runs perfect. And yes I adjusted the mixture screws (they're a pain to adjust without the right tool)

Ok, did it say anything about jetting with the airbox lid removed?

Thanks

There is a BIG difference with the lid removed. I'm not sure about the Raptor, but on my Z400 it's the difference between about a 120 or 124 main and a 146.

I'm also trying to figure out the jetting on one of my Raptors. I'm trying to get the spark arrestor out and remove the lid.
