Whats up with the raptors stock HP #'s? Every mag that does a test on it reports lower and lower numbers. Whats it down to now, 35? Wow. A KTM 125 has that much power. surely you would think this 660 would have numbers in the 50's pushin 60hp, but 35? I know HP isnt everything but I expected more from an engine so BIG.

The machines are totally different. (raptor, 250r)
So far...I have kept up with my buddies 250r on my banshee anywhere he wants to ride....But I have been riding for almost 20 years...he has not.

Joeyd, I had exactly the same feeling you had when you stepped of your raptor and got on the old bike. We have a 300ex and a friend has a 400ex. After riding my raptor and getting on the 300ex that I had so much fun on for since 97 I could not think about keeping the ex even for a spare fro kicking around on. The 300ex is still a good ride but not once you have been on a Raptor. My son had the same feelings and he thought he was hell on wheels on the 300 and 400. The new technology on the raptor is great and it is just the beginning.

 

I believe this forum has different areas for different types of bikes.Last time I checked I believe I saw a Honda section.This forum I feel was design for riders of a certain brand of bike
to exchange idea and solve problems they are having with their brand.I suggest you go back to the Honda forum...that is,if they will let you back in. Stop bashin start riddin!!!!!!!!

 

Not big into sports quads but here is my observation. The 250R was a great quad in its time, but the time has come for it to move over & let the new king rule...........the Raptor.

 

I stopped posting because the raptor riders have serious case of denial. So I was going to wait until mx started up again then come back to posting. Then maybe the raptor riders to shut up. If you don't think my post are right, don't post.
It all started with all the raptor riders saying how great there raptor was. I did some studying in old and new post of differnt forums. I posted some, not all that I knew where cold hard facts that had happened in numeroud occassions, like a-arms.Then people started posting. One raptor rider started bashing the 250r. Then anouther, calling it small potatos. That was it. I don't see why dirtwheels doesn't do a test feturing ds650,banshee,250r,raptor660,lt500,lt250,and400ex.
Then when the lt500 beats the raptor in a drag I will be laughing so hard I won't be able to type for days. When the 250r beats it around the track I will be laughing even harder, and so on. mx250r91, right on! I was expecting that much horespower to. All these riders make it sound like so much power, when it really isn't from a big thumper.

What is up with all of this "well my raptor is the king cause i beat this guy in a drag race one time he had a pipe on it so that meens mine will be two times faster" we will see in the upcoming baja 2000 not 1000 they changed. We will see where it comes in at if it wins i am happy if it loses i am happy cause i could care less but until i see a raptor win a gnc or gncc championship it isnt allowed the respect to be thought of as the new king. I am not raptor bashing it is probably a great quad but it hasnt had the time or the statistics to be called the new king. It has reverse and electric start which is a nice option but if you ant kick over a quad or get to tirwed of it then you shouldnt be ridin a raptor and if you are to lazy to get off of your 4wheeler and pull it back a few feet then please dont ride with me cause you might get to tired from ridin. Tha is all i have to say and feel free to make fun off me cause i really dont care cause i will probably be ridn while your typin so i dont care.

 

IS IT NOT THE YEAR 2000,SINCE WHEN DO ATV RIDERS NOT MODIFY AND CHANGE THEIR ATV"S AND I HOPE YOU HONDA RIDERS ARE NOT HOLDING YOUR BREATH WAITING FOR YOUR 2001 TRX 250R ,OH I FORGOT HONDA DID BUILD A NEW 250EX. THE 250R WAS A GREAT MACHINE BUT ITS GONE DEAL WITH IT GET OVER IT STOP WHINING ABOUT IT AND IF YOU WANT TO SPEND $9000.00 ON A HOMEMADE MACHINE GO AHEAD,BUT PLEASE GO BACK TO THE HONDA FORUM AND HOLD YOUR BREATH.

 

I would suggest all the real riders to go out and ride. Let the raptor riders sit here and post lies if it makes them feel good. I'm going out to rost some banshee's. Who knows might even bag another raptor. Wouldn't surprise me.
