front locker for wolverine 450
#4
well i did some research.. a company did make lockers for the earlier models of wolverine. I figure since they are so brand new, it will take atleast a year or two or 3, before aftermarket people make parts for them. as after they make something they usaully test it., and thats why it takes so long. it seemed the locker for the earlier wolverine was just a round gear which slipped easily into the front differential.. I wonder how steering was after that at high speed, even with it outta 4 wheel drive, since the locker is still locking both front wheels and they are spinning at the same time.. maybe I dont want one..

You are correct... steering with the diff locked really takes away from the handling of the Wolverine.
If you compare the microfiche for an '02 Kodiak 400 to the '06 Wolverine 450, you should see some serious similarities. Enough similarity that I'll bet the Detroit Gearless locker made for the Kodiak will drop right into the Wolverine.
Something to think about.

just buy the parts from yamaha to convert the wolverine to a front diff lock. the front of the frames are the same between the 07 grizzly 450 and the 07 wolverine. I dont know what parts you would need but it would interchange.

true, but its not just one part that would make it lock... your looking at a whole new differential, so unless you are willing to pay some serious money for it...
