Milled heads are good and will give you higher compession=HP...But the coolhead is the better choice..there made to keep your motor cooler and there made for the higher compession...But They are higher to buy then just getter your head milled...So its really what ever you have the funds for...

Default milled head or cool head

The factory head dome shape is not always consistant side to side. With stock motor any difference will be minor but with milled heads then the difference between cylinders can be significant. Some machine shops will do a head mill job plus reshape dome chambers to make consistant side to side. So if you are building a motor to run on pump premium then milling the heads and reshaping stock dome chambers will provide good results. If you are building a higher compression motor to run on race fuel then a cool head will give you the option of changing domes and is popular choice. There are also very many happy Banshee owners running a simple milled head with great results on pump premium. The billet "Cool Heads" do not always run cooler but they do look cool (more glitz), they are more difficult to install as some require you to change out head bolts, and they are much more expensive. So for a pump premium motor a billet cool head is often a waste of money.
P.S. Check out BansheeHQ, but beware, that site is addictive.
