Cranking ATV's With A SpotLight

Has anyone heard about the SpotLight that cranks all yamaha line of ATV's and starts some of the Honda. The key doesn't even have to be in the ATV. You plug it into the 12volt slot and crank it right up. I need to know if it is just my spotlight or their are many many more like this.

Thanks,

Prolly just hot-wired to start like that......you cannot start a quad that way

Nothings hot wired. I took this think to a yamaha dealer and walk from bike to bike. I started the YFZ 450 4x4, Kodiak 400 4x4, Grizzly 660. The only thing it would not crank is the Rhino 660.

Your dealer has a YFZ 450 4x4? All the dealers around here can only get the 2wd variety, and those don't come with a 12 volt outlet

That doesn't make a bit of sense. I don't see how it would even be remotely possible, even with a f'd up spotlight and quad it still wouldn't work. Even if a spotlight battery had enough power to crank a starter, and for some reason it was wired directly to the cigarette adapter instead of on a diode, and IF the 12v outlet on the quad was wired to the starter, the thin wires in that spotlight and the supply for the 12 outlet wouldn't be able to handle the very high current that is needed to get that engine turning. Ha, 4x4 yfz. This Myth Is Busted (sorry, too much Discovery Channel lately).

Go sell your spot light on ebay, someone as high as you will buy it.

You putz. Most yamahas don't have a 12 volt outlet to begin with, and every spotlight I ever owned had a 6 volt battery. Now tell me, how is your stoned a$$ going to plug a spotlight into a quad without an outlet, and how is a low current 6 volt battery going to operate a 12 volt electrical system?

Your game has been shut down, sorry, but thanks for playing

As my good friend Apu at the Quik-e-mart once said, "This is the prime time for stoned teenagers to come and buy shiny things".

The aux power outlet and the ignition systems are not connected on any quad I know of
