I think the best idea would be to equally equip the bikes and see. Stock engine on both, Big Gun exhaust on both, K&N on both, and 20' holeshot xc's. Then run them. Does that not sound fair?

I talked to my dealer he said two freinds bought quads from them one bought a raptor and one bought a ds. They went and tested them they raced them time aand time again and the ds is faster stock. They both just put big guns and jetted both of their bikes. Now the raptor is faster but not by much. Hope this helps.

Wow, Cal!!
The 660 is maybe 10 years old!!
It was used first on the Dual Sport XTZ, and lately on the most of the Muz bikes.
It'a at least as old as the Rotax...except for the brand new gearbox.
And it is reliable...at least the XTZ was.

In the magazines they all say the Raptor is faster, but people who have raced them together have said the DS has won hands down.

The thing that surprises me is that the DS is quite a bit heavier than the Raptor and still beats it. Stock for stock both are pretty restricted with the exhaust and such, so it would be interesting to see them both go at it with pipes and other motor mods.

I think only time can really tell which machine will be (reliablility) king. They've both only been out fairly recently. Nobody is honest because my Yamaha dealer says the Raptor pulls away from the Bomb, and will also keep up with ANY street bike for the first 1/8 mile (what is he smokin?). But the Bombardier dealer says just the opposite, that the DS leaves the Raptor in the dust.
85 200X ATC all beautifully stock except for K&N, Bandits, DID, and Sprockets.
9? Timberwolf, snowplow for all the cool snow

Did you guys read the new post about ct pipe vs. stock? Is this normal? I mean it gives it more power but shouldn't quickness and top speed go up as well. How do aftermarket pipes affect the 400ex or ds650?
