Default 26" tires on a Kodiak 450

Doe's anyone have 26" tires on their Kodiaks. I just bought a 2006 450 SE and am looking at Goodyears Rawhide MT/R radials. I will appreciate any feedback. Also any opinion on changing to Radials. Thanks

I just installed a set of 26" Carlisle ACT's on my 06 Kodiak, definite improvement over the stockers. The radials offer a smoother ride and better traction, I put them on several of my machines.

I think I want to go with radials and I'm finding lots to choose from. Do you loose mutch power going to 26" tires? Also I looked at the Maxxis Big horn and it is heavy even in the 25" original size. Does a very heavy tire make mutch difference? It seems like heavy tires might make for better stability.

I didn't notice any power loss, the ACT's are only about a 1/2" taller than the stock Maxxis. Bighorns are good tires but on the heavy side. Mudlight XTR's are another good choice for all around riding as are the ITP ATR's if you not into the muddin.....

I will be riding on trails most but I will be in the mountains of North Carolina with lots of rocks roots and ruts. I won't be aiming for the mud holes. So I will need as tough a tire I can get .

25" Bighorns are callin your name, they run larger in size so I'd go with the 25's

OK I am liking the Bighorns in 25" Now I have another Question. Are there any aftermarket wheels that match original widths. I only see them in 7" wide.
