Default Yamaha Rhino dies while riding on rough ground

I was running my Rhino across the sand at Little Sahara on rough ground and it died on me twice. Took several minutes of cranking to get it started. Anyone else have this kind of problem?

Maybe it's running out of gas

yea gas could be a prob but i would also check to make sure the airfilter is clean, spark, and I would also try celaning the carb and make sure the jets are all clean and you should be able to see through them

Check the gas filter behind the passenger seat. It is really small and any blockage at all could disrupt fuel to the carb.

I replaced mine with a larger one from an auto supply store. You may need to get new fuel line to mount it in a better location. I was able to buy everything for the cost of the Yamaha filter. It is way easier then the carb and a better first step. Beware, the float bowl screws on the Rhino will strip when you try to loosen them up and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helps

HAs it done this before? Does it repeat on flat level ground? Did you consider a wire grounding out or loose somewhere?

This thing is brand new. Maybe two tanks of gas run through it. The air filter is clean and it still had at least half a tank when this happened but it sure seemed like it was starving for fuel. I'm taking it in to the dealer...for what thats worth...but thought maybe you guys had run across something similar.
