2006 RAPTOR 700R REAR FRAME? HELP!
LAST WEEK ON RIDING I CRACKED MY REAR FRAME (WHERE GRAB BAR CONNECTS) IN TWO SPOTS. I JUST TOOK IT OFF AND IT IS BENT SO I DO NOT WANT TO WELD IT. WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS ONE THEY WANT TO SELL, I ALREADY CHECKED E-BAY WITH NO LUCK. IF ALL ELSE FAILS I WILL BE MAKING YAMAHA HAPPY WITH ANOTHER PURCHASE...

2006 RAPTOR 700R REAR FRAME? HELP!
Detroit,
I just replaced the rear frame of my 02 Raptor because of the exact same failure. I also had to weld the lower attachment brackets to the rear frame from the main frame because the welds failed. I have one coat of paint over two coats of primer on the welds right now. Got some sanding and another coat of paint before it's done. Unfortunately when the rear frame broke, the attachment point to my silencer ripped out too and broke my silencer from the pipe. On the upside, every failure is an opportunity for an upgrade. Replaced the entire exhaust with a Sparks X6 system.
I bought the rear frame from Alba Action but after my purchase, found it significantly cheaper here: http://www.powerpartsplus.com/
Good luck with the replacement. The inserts for your rear grab bar (6-pack rack) is likely buggered up. Two of my press fit inserts for the 6 pack rack were broken dislodged from the frame. Give me the extra 2 pounds of metal to avoid this BS and I would be happy.
