Default 2007 GRIZZLY 450!!!

Just rolled over 2100 miles this weekend, and I agree they get faster after a few hundred miles. Had mine 54-55 mph by the speedo. I just got a new Garmin Etrex Legend GPS so I will check my speed by that, see how accurate the speedo is.

Does it accelerate up to its top speed pretty quick ? i live in a area were theres bears and mountain lions last year a 3 kids were pulling a sled behind a atv and a moutain lion that had a den near the church were they were playing gave chase to the kid on the the sled and the kid on the back noticed it they were able to out run it. It was in are local paper. I have been wanting a atv all year and have been studying yamaha and this atv looks like its a perfect mix of everything i need. Just dont want a slow machineand dont want to pay 9,000 for a fast 4x4.

Thought I'd throw my comment in. I purchased my 06 kodiak in oct. 06. It has exceeded all my expectations. My son and nephews own larger yamaha and suzuki products and my 450 has gone everywhere the larger ones have. I've purchased a snow plow for mine but have not needed it yet and that's ok. One big plus for me with the kodiak is that I have some middle age hip problems and one plus for my purchase of the 450 instead of the larger 660 is the narrower size that is much more comfortable for me. Also a big plus with the narrow width is trail riding through tight areas the larger ones have trouble with. Acceleration is very good and I have not noticed a problem with excessive vibration but have not looked for it. If it starts and goes when I give it gas, I'm happy.

I have had my 06 Kodiak for just over a year and love it also. The noise is a bit more than some other machines and there is a slight vibration that I have become used to. It has however lessed a bit.

The brake squeel is anoying, but outside of that is has been awesome. My top speed has been 58mph on pavement.

I have been looking at the new 700 Griz, but don't want to sacrifice the nimbleness of this setup.

You should have no problem handling this machine at all. I'm 5'8" and 158lbs and it is a very easy quad to control and one of the selling points was its feeling of agility on trails.
