1994 Yamaha Warrior
#1
Hey,
Im kinda new to ATV's and would like to purchase one. I found a 1994 Warrior for $600. It starts and runs great. Can you guys please give me a feed back on how these machines perform ? I just want something that I can learn on and do a few wheelies on. Are there any mods that I can do to this as well ? thanks for all your help.

Do a search of the yamaha forum you will find tons of info on the warrior. recon99 has a pretty sweet one too.
From what I've read on here, best thing is a air filter, pipe and re-jet. Also a edelbrock carb to replace the stock carb.
When you search make sure you 'check' the forums you want to search.

For $600 it would be hard to go wrong with a good running machine. A stock warrior may not be up to part with the more modern sport quads like the 400ex and z400, but they don't do bad at all for what they are, and are still lots of fun to ride. They're pretty easy to work on too when something goes wrong.

The performance is ok, but they're not up to par with the more modern machines. It depends on how your friends ride if you're going to be able to keep up with them or not. Just trail riding you will be able to keep up fine, but if they're out there riding as hard as they can, you'll fall behind pretty quick.
Like most machines, they're reliable as long as they've been cared for reasonably well. If it was neglected and abused it could turn into a money pit, which is what happened to me.
