If you ask me a pipe, filter, rev limiter, and other bolt-ons are just window dressing. I have never been able to tell that much difference from those parts. But I did change to a stock bore 11:1 piston, and a torque cam, on a 660 Rhino and noticed a substantial improvement from that. The funny thing was, the piston and cam cost less than just a pipe would have, and I didn't have to put up with the irritating noise that aftermarket pipes make. Best bang for the buck will be found inside the engine, just so you know.

DV... how much jetting did you have to change?

Sorry, I replied incorrectly to begin with, and have changed it with this edit. I was thinking of something else before.

We removed the restrictive intake snorkel, went up two sizes on the pilot jet, went out a full additional turn on the air screw, went two clip positions on the needle, re-drilled the slide, and went up four sizes on the main jet. Getting the right jetting with that CV carb on the Rhino was a pain in the butt.

The high comp piston was generating too much vacuum for the CV carb to work correctly. There is a small 1/16"ish diameter hole in the bottom of the slide to begin with, and we enlarged it one bit size. That change really smoothed out throttle response to sudden wide open throttle application. The mechanic at the local Yamaha shop came up with that one, because he had read about it on some sort of service bulletin. That Rhino was the biggest pain in the butt I have ever seen to jet correctly, but when we were done it really ripped. It ran much stronger than any of the prior Grizzly 660s I've had.
