Default Valve adjustment 660 Raptor

Got a 660 Raptor and having problems starting in cold weather, been told to check and adjust valves if needed. Is this something I can do or do I need to take it the the shop. I probally can do it but don't know how and don't know how the settings should be. After it does start then no problems starting again while warm.

It's pretty simple to do yourself. It's just real tight trying to get to the exhaust valves. Check out raptortranny.com they have a step by step with pictures on your valve adjustment. Biggest thing is to make sure you adjust them at TDC but you can read about it on that website.

The not starting while cold was a problem on my raptor(2002). It would work when warm but otherwise i had to pull start it. I took it to the shop and he adjusted the alves and still nothing. The compression was wayy low. It is being worked on now and the mechanic thinks it is just worn out. He said he needs to basically redo the valves completely. I hope your case is better than mine and it is just a simple adjustment for the sake of the cost.
