Stay away from hotcams products all together, they're weak. Get something good like Webcams, Powroll, or FST. With those, you will need to get stiffer valve springs, but they're a better performing cam, from a better company.

Rectifiers aren't really a performance mod. And the only "rev box" that will do you any good on the 350 is the Dynatek, and that won't exactly fit under your low cost requirement. The stock CDI doesn't have a rev limiter to begin with so the "1000 additional rpm" claim the rev box manufacturers have is bogus. and the cheaper aftermarket ones just change the timing a little, and are known to burn themselves up. They're all made in the same factory in china, just with a different sticker on them. Procom, Big Gun, White Brothers, and a few others. Stick with the stock one unless you can afford a Dyna programmable.

An outerwears prefilter is waterproof. Surprisingly waterproof. Look at what I do, with no airbox lid, a uni foam filter, outerwears, and no problems to speak of:

here's one

another one

one more

Not many guys go through anything deeper than that with a 2 wheel drive

I don't think that hotcam would even work for you. Back when the raptor 350 came out, hotcams was selling the warrior/big bear/wolverine as a raptor 350 cam also, and it ended up destroying a bunch of engines before they were pulled from the shelves. If that seller is claiming that it's the same cam for all the 350's, he's either making an assumption that the top end is the same, like hotcams did, or he has one of the old ones still labeled for a raptor 350. Either way, it's the wrong one.

And a regular $12 outerwears prefilter should work just as good as those $100 lids. $100 for a plastic lid with some water-resistant mesh is ridiculous. If you like the idea of still having a lid with a snorkel, you could modify your stock lid. It wouldn't be hard to get a piece of the outerwears fabric, cut a hole in your airbox lid, and fasten the fabric over the hole and seal it up. Maybe not as pretty, but it'll do the same thing, and for $12 vs $100, and who cares how good stuff under the seat looks anyways?

holy $h!+ I cant believe you do all that without a lid. I'm thinking no pre-filter but an outerwears lid. I cant find a different cam besides hotcams. Also what else do you recomend? screw the budget for now. I just need ideas.

There are a few good companies that I would recommend. I would suggest getting a .430 cam. Lots more kick than a .390 (stock is .382), and they don't kill your bottom end like a full race .450 will

Some other ideas - well, pretty much anything you see in my mod list is also available for the raptor 350. A high compression piston will give you a little boost in torque and let the engine rev a lot quicker. An edelbrock carb will give you better power, throttle response, and tunability. And some heavy duty tie rods and ends. The stock ones break way too easy. I'd recommend one of ASR's kits with heim ends. (don't get a Tusk kit if you do decide to get a stronger tie rod setup)

also screw the budget, i'm on a mission. Since I dont have a job i had to sell stuff on ebay to get the cam. which i'm gonna order today. .430 lift and maybe a piston once the cash starts flowing better.

Nice job in mud recon, but I hope you have fun with bearings I used to ride mud all the time in old fourwheeler and whole rear axle bearings went and front bearings went also. Have Fun...
