So, am I the first schmuck to break the air filter cage on the Raptor while trying to close the airbox? The wire mesh broke away from the white plastic base that fits against the airbox.
Is there a decent air filter system on the market yet? Sure does suck spending money to fix a poor design on such an expensive quad.
Too bad Honda doesn't have anything on the market to compare with the raptor.

How the heck did you do that? I think White brothers lists a White Power filter for it but I believe it is the same type.

I had to get the white plastic base cockeyed while installing the lid. When I opened it up this evening, the mesh and filter part had slid back with the plastic base angled backwards.

I just want to know what is wrong with a normal clamp on filter similar to the 400ex?

Pro Design has a system coming out very soon that will get rid of the stupid factory set up. It's going to be much like the banshee aluminum plate bolted in the airbox with a normal clamp style air filter.

I was re-jetting my Raptor tonight and ran into a problem when I tried to get the lid on the air box. I had previously tightened down the bolts for the airbox while pressing the box forward to make sure there was pressure on the hoses that connect to the carbs. I guess I had "tweeked" the box. I messed around with the lid for about 10 minutes trying to get it to seal properly. Then I loosened one of those bolts and the lid fell into place with no problem. I still don't like that airbox design. I'm going to replace it.

I beat you, well the dealer I bought my raptor off of did they showed me the airbox at the dealer and when they put the lid on it did the same thing, unfortunetly I did not find this out untill I got it home and I bought the quad out of state! So all I did was get some super glue/or a hot glue gun and glue it back together and I think it is stronger than before so try it.

On top of the air filter where the air actually gets sucked in there is a little 'tube' that looks like something plugs into it. What is that? Does it need to be hooked up?

Eric, you mean the part thats part of the lid, well it connects with a clamp to the air box lid or do you mean that little tube next to the big openening that I just described that runs up under the tank? I do remember a little tube there but I am not sure if it was connected to anything I do not have my quad at the moment TC Racing does or else I would check for you start a new forum and ask
