i have an 02 660 & i allways check my oil and the last few times ive gone riding i noticed i was at the bottom of the hash marks on my dip stick every time before we would head out. i would fill it up a lil bit, maby half way up the hashes and wed take off. it was the same way every time so i started lookin for leaks. there was a lil around starter cover and the plug at the bottom of the oil tank was leaking a lil bit. both were ez fixes. yesterday when we went i checkd it befor we left and when we got back. the oil level was about 1/4-1/3 of an inch lower by the time we got back. i was letting my friend ride it and i noticed that when hed crack the gas it would puff out some blue smoke. its not porring out like a 2 stroke or really bad, but it is still burning oil. the oil smells like gas a lil bit to. im thinking about a new pisont & rings. id just get a honer and clean up the walls unless there deep scratches. or would i be better off just getting a new sleeve. ive never had to do a motor in a 4wheeler befor so i was wondering where a good place would be to get parts from. id like to go with something a lil higher compression, oversized piston if i had to, and maby cams and valves since its apart. id just be afriad when it comes time to jet it.... does anyone have any sugestions.
thanks alot

i'd say hone and re ring it..
as far as jetting.. shouldn't be that hard to do..
i'd say just do plug chops.. to figure out jetting

ya i dont wanna have to resleeve it if i dont have to. i have just heard that 660s get screwy when u jet them. id like just a lil higher compression and mild cams.

valve seals smoke on start up. and the oil wouldnt smell like gas that bad. ive had valve stem seals go bad in my truck and rings go bad in my old mustang (got carried away with spray ). it also is harder to start when its cold. i think its due to loss of compression.....?
