Default Help with my new Raptor???

Thats what I am talking about. The guy from the dealership told me it is supposed to be white.I never heard of that even in my car.He said white was only for two strokes not the fours.Either way I will get out of work tomorrow and tear things down.I will post back my findings and mean while I will try and stop by the cycle shop for some jets.I just went down and pulled the plug again and it is white even the electrode is a grey color. It does have some black up in the plug a bit.I think it did back fire some when you let off it hard.I wasnt ripping it that hard for it to be has hot as it got.I am taking ozarks advice and taking it apart and see what I have tomorrow.Keep posted and check back tomorrow.

Default Help with my new Raptor???

Took the Raptor apart and found it to be running airplane fuel.I drained the tank and put a new tank of 93 octane in it.I took the carbs apart and I am taking them to the dealership and see if I can go up a size I will probably get a couple different sizes.Does anyone know which carb should be the smaller size and how much smaller?

With unleaded fuel it is hard to get good colour on your plug. The rhs carb as you sit on your bike will have the bigger jet as it feeds two valves and the lhs only feeds one. My old 660 had 155/160 mikuni mains at sea level with the full yoshi pipe and no airbox lid. On the dyno this had a good air/fuel ratio of about 13. BTW the yoshi headpipe is light stainless steel and in the w/shop at idle it would glow bright red, very common with 4 strokes, get her moving with some air moving about and you wont see it. Get her dyno tuned if you are overly concerned.

Default Help with my new Raptor???

Hi,Guys thanks
I got it figured out pretty well.It is running very well now.I took the 110 octane out and replaced it with 93 octane.I am also running the 155 / 160 mains,But I looked to make shure. If it gets cold I can just run the lid on to richen it up a bit,but it is a running fool this thing.I got the plug a little darker but I know it is not going to blow main thing. My 2006 KFX will have its hands full trying to keep me off the Raptor.LOL
When I get done with the mods on the KFX I will let you know which is faster.
