Default Unknown Quad

Hi i have recently got an old Yamaha 250 race quad and took it out a few times, now i cant kick it out of third or fourth. Any ideas what it could be? Also i am not sure what quad it is, what oil to use and where the best place to buy parts is! I think it has the same engine and rear end as one of those three wheeler TRI Z 250s. Can anyone help me out? Alex

click the "my page" tab at the top of your screen. You may have to shrink the pictures downto get them to fit.

Yamaha never made a 250 2 stroke quad. My best guess woud be that it's a blaster, maybe with a 240 big bore kit. It could be something that was custom built, or maybe it's really not a 250?

Get some pictures up and it'll help a lot.

Milky oil usually means there is water in it. I'd get that changed as soon as possible.
